There are a lot of rumours and half-truths about the cs1.6 netsettings, and I want the clear them here. I play Counterstrike since 2002 and I had to move often.

Again and again I asked for good netsettings, and I actually received overall just two answers:
1. 25000/100/100/0.01
or
2. You have to figure out yourself

 

Soon I was tired of testing, especially because I had no comparisons what the optimum is.
I play nearly only on online publicservers, thats why the netsettings are so important to me.

 

Counterstrike is a program based on facts like every software too, so I was convinced that it must be possible to calculate the settings with these facts.
After my enquiries I had to notice that well-known pages like csconfigs.de do not interpret or understand every cvar correctly too.
Here are many facts listed that conflict with the common knowledge, but I proved every fact again and again, and these are the results I gathered here.
